I have a customer who is looking to be able to change their caller-id by hitting a hotkey on their phone, similar to old phone systems that used to have multiple lines on them. Is this possible and how would I do it?

Something that FluentStream has is a feature code you can use that does a One-Time Caller ID update, is there a way to set that up?

You could use the new CID on outbound rules and trigger different rules via a prefix.

Customer dials 221234567890 and it matches a rule like this.

Outbound caller ID is also set against each extension. If you chose to do so (modify a template), you could add additional extensions (line keys) to one set, each with a different caller ID, so it would work as you described. However, changing a template means the there is no longer 3CX support if you encountered issues.

As SweetAction suggested, using the new outbound rule feature is absolutely the easiest approach. But I would also encourage you to take a look at our 3CX Caller ID tool. As leejor pointed out, you can set the outbound caller ID for an extension. Our tool allows you to select from many different "named" caller IDs. So, for example, you could name a caller ID "LA, California" to use a California phone number, or "Company ABCD" to call in behalf of a franchisee. Different groups can be presented different numbers to choose from too.
