I think that this idea has already been proposed, but however I try to post it.

Is it possible in next release to have the option to change the ring tone ?

Thanks

Yeah i agree. We have scripted at logon to replace the default ringtone with one the business prefers but annoyingly, everytime we do an update to 3CX and a new windows client is released, the businesses preferred ring tone gets overwritten by the default ring tone. Easily fixed by getting all 200 desktops logged off and logged back on again! but would like to have this as an option.

Would you mind sharing your script?

Sure its along these lines:

Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
Dim wavLocation
wavLocation = "\\SERVERNAME\3CXPhone_SHARE$\ringtone.wav"
fso.CopyFile wavLocation, "C:\ProgramData\3CXPhone for Windows\PhoneApp\Sounds\ringtone.wav", True

1.) build Windows 3CX client sounds into Windows control panel sounds program events like other applications do.
2.) put ringtones in the application settings.

either or both of these.

Please allow us to change the ring tone for the Windows Softphone

We need to be aeble to change it via the config without having to change a file on the computer... Thank you

A lot of people want to change the ringtone for queue's or ringgroups to the normal ringtone aswell, maybe you're aeble to implement this aswell in the same step...

Thank you

Please make this an easy thing my employees can do themselves from the softclient. It's our number one feature request here.

Me personally don't know whats so difficult about this....

How do you upvote this? By rating it 5 stars? We HATE the 3CX ringtone. Why is it the iPhone 3GS ringtone and not at least something unique? The quality of it is horrible, every time it goes off we cringe. People miss calls because they keep their speakers off because it's so annoying.

Same over here... Yes give them 5 stars

@3CXEngineer Can we have your update on this?

Thank you

Please add a way to customize the Softphone ring tone.

All you need to do is replace ringtone.wav in the C:\ProgramData\3CXPhone for Windows\PhoneApp\Sounds folder

It can't be the final solution, every customer want's to choose his own ringtone => this means you have to visit every user and help him to change the ringtone in the right format and right folder, not really a solution sry.

Please point this out as feature request on your team, we need a real solution.

Will there soon be a new Desktopclient?

Thank you

I created a .BAT file, that will load another ringtone.wav from a network share.
Then i added the .BAT to the task scheduler, so it would run at every logon.
We had another reason to do it, but it will work in your case too ;)

Different ringtones have been requested severeral times.
So please go to the topics and upvote them as well.

Thank you for the feedback...Sounds great, but a feature like that should be standard, so let's upvote those requests...

Please sort this out, the default ring tone is awful
