I can call it but the intercom won't answer because it can't.Ok when you call it's extension directly it can answer the call and run for 32 seconds at least?

You can probably program its button to quickdial an extension
Instead of a smartphone number, can you enter an extension number? Provided it uses the voip service of the PBX it should be doable. Again, because this is not supported hardware, I cannot say whether you can eventually get it to do what you want, but you can give it a shot.
