We had a series of complaints where people were expecting clients or business partners to dial into a specific conference room and the call never arrived.
An investigation quickly found the cause. People would walk into a conference room for a meeting where no calls were expected and hit the DND button. They would then walk away after their meeting and leave the phone in that DND state, so subsequent meetings (sometimes days later) could not receive calls.
I went to each conference phone (in the 3CX admin window) and under their "Forwarding Rules" tab under "Auto-Switch" I set the phones to use the "Set to Available during office hours" option.
I click "Configure", then select the "This extension uses Specific Office Hours" option and set each day to use 01:00 - 23:00. This means that if anyone leaves a phone in DND mode during the day, it will be reset back to Available at 1:00 am and be ready for use later that day. Since I made this change to all conference phones we've had no further complaints.
Hope this helps someone else out in the same situation.
