Hello,

I would appreciate any insight on what might be causing this issue. Initially my phone system was set up and I was able to use a dial code to call the PA system leave a voicemail and then it would play back over my PA system, recently I have been attempting to do so, I will get a beep and about half a second later the call will end whether I had been talking or not, and then it never plays. Any information or insight is appreciated. 3CX says I have no support account, so reviewing the configuration and settings with them is not an option at this time.

Hello,

Firstly, were any changes made to any of the systems, such as updates, networking etc? Can you be more specific on when it happened?
Did you try checking any logs etc on PA system, or simply restarting it?

What is your PA system?
What is the call flow.

The organization is a school, and being out for the summer it had not been tested so, there isn't a clear time frame of when the issue started to occur. There should not have been any changes to the flow or the network. The phone system has been restarted.
Call flow should be
1. Dial * (dial code for paging)
2. Select the group (ie 222)
3. Record/say message
4. End

error presented in the event log:
Warning3005208/25/2025 4:34 PMSIP ServerChapmanThere was no user or outbound rule found for the number *100 that Ext.901 dialed.

This get displayed for every number in the group

If you're paging, you need to do it in one swoop.

Example, paging is *9 and my paging group is 100.

i would dial *9100

you cant have * as a dial code.

That is correct, if that was unclear I apologize.

Paging is *
but to access the group is 222
so when it is dialed it looks like how you say
*222
The issue is it cuts off almost immediately after this is done. Within I would say about 5 seconds.

Hi,

Did you set paging to just "*" ? Could you try setting it to *+any other digit not already used for another dialing code, such as the *9 and see if the behaviour returns to normal.

That seems to have worked. Thank you!
