Hey All,
I am attempting to setup a Telstra Enterprise SIP trunk on a server with failover and I am having trouble due to having to set an IP address in the contact field.
Basically the same as listed here.
https://www.3cx.com/community/threa...ip-trunk-wrong-contact-host-ip-address.62551/
I can get the primary 3CX server connected and working fine.
However the failover server also brings these IP settings during the scheduled restore.
The trunk is able to register on the failover server but has the internal IP address of the primary server in the contact field, I can manually change this setting but it will be overwritten when the next restore happens.
The 3CX server only has a single NIC and all routing is being done by the network equipment at the sites and it is working but is not what 3CX have as a supported network configuration as listed here:
https://www.3cx.com/blog/docs/network-configurations-supported-3cx-phone-system/
I don't have control over the network topology but should be able to request changes if it's really needed.
If I set the IP address to use under the options menu to "Local IP Address (OS Default Route)" it puts the WAN address in the header, "Use Default Settings" does the same.
I am thinking if there is there a way to have the "Contact: Host Part" to maybe use a variable of %local_ip_address% for example.
Or am I thinking about this the wrong way.
Appreciate any input.
