Disclaimer: I know this can break stuff, and is not supported.

But is there a way to build custom web UI options for phone templates?
Or are the options limited to manual XML/conf file editing? As in, you can't add new options and variables for example; screen brightness of a Yealink to be adjusted from the 3CX MC.

Another question... I discovered that SRTP is currently unsupported but is somewhat hidden in the Yealink template and can be enabled and shown in the web UI!
(Granted yes it does require you I believe, to enable secure SIP under the 3CX app provisioning and adjusting your transport and port)

Is this not provided out of the box because it requires more validation checks?

We would also like to have some sort of custom tags like Broadsoft has, no need for custom templates, but nearly everything could be customized. I hope someone will also post this as an idea.

I went through the T4x template by hand and got it to my liking, and enabled SRTP for my demo road case. Just wish those were options in the web UI.

SRTP was available at the extension level at one point, and appears to have been removed. It's pretty much pointless anyways without SIP-TLS and it caused problems which is likely why it was removed. I expect it to come back once they finish re-working the SIP-TLS support to work out of the box with LE.

LE?
It seemed to work fine when I tried it with a T46S, and both SIP TLS and SRTP working.

LE = Let's Encrypt.

Last time I tried SRTP I had problems with BLFs on Yealink. The BLFs themselves worked but the LEDs didn't. This was some time ago though so it may have gotten better.

Thanks for clarifying! And it was a sample size of one phone, so who knows for sure but it did work when I tried it. ;)

Well that's good to hear. Hopefully 3CX's testing goes just as well and we'll see it baked in soon.
