Good Day,

We have a security door that opens with a *55 command on a call from the push button. The call arrives, and if the receptionist presses *55 on the keypad, the door opens, but a if a custom speed dial with *55 is created and pressed on her softphone when the door buzzer is pressed, it says "resume failed" and nothing happens. We did a BLF key on her Yealink T54S phone as well and that did not work either.

She has the "Perform receptionist operations like set status, set reminders (wake-up call), Assign and Clear extensions (Check-in/out) " right assigned.

She has a "star 20 star" speed dial that picks up calls without issue, so why is the *55 not programmable as a custom speed dial?

The is on an Enterprise licensed 3CX.

Thanks.

Hi,

You should take a look in your dial codes section, there you will see the default dial code for Block Outbound Caller ID starts with *5. Try changing this code to something that is not already reserved if possible (9 for example) and let us know if it worked for you.

This might not be effective though, since the speed dial will put the security door call on hold, and dial out *55. I'm assuming that your doorphone calls you and waits for a DTMF code in order to resume and open for the guest.

Changed *5 to *8 in dial codes and tried again. Still says, "resume failed"

There's a push button on the door with an intercom. The button initiates a call to the reception ext and after she answers and talks to the person, if *55 is pressed on her phone, the door opens.

Not sure if it makes a difference, but the analog call box is connected via a Grandstream A to D converter. It is on the approved list of hardware. Everything works, it's just the speed dial that is eluding me.

Important to note, a speed dial is not the same as a DTMF sequence, hence it doesn't work.

The security door expects DTMF, but when the receptionist presses the speed dial, the phone simply opens a new line and dials *55

Ahh, that makes sense. Is there anyway to force the *55 code down the open line then?

Or speed dial a DTMF sequence directly to the line to pop the door open using blind transfer or the like?

You have to use a custom template - https://www.3cx.com/docs/custom-ip-phone-templates/. Note, extra steps required for Yealink phones

The code required is

linekey.x.label = Door
linekey.x.line = 0
linekey.x.type = 11
linekey.x.value = 55

Where x is the DDS key you want to use

Note ; Custom templates are not supported by 3CX
