Hi all,

Wondering what everyone's typical approach is when using a 100 DID/number range and you have extensions that are no longer needed. Do you tend to leave them there or do you prefer to delete inactive extensions altogether and then re-create the extension and inbound rule once it becomes required again?

I've taken to leaving them there, but re-generating passwords and setting them to disabled but am wondering what everyone else does in this scenario.

Let's first dissect those two different objects.

DIDs are provided by the trunk.
Extensions are native to the system.

I assign unused DIDs to the Operator extension and route them that way.
I delete unnecessary extensions.
Last, I don't assume the extension number and the masked DID number are one to one.. that assumption is misleading and a rather obsolete approach.
