My question would be why it's referring to the loopback address in any of that (127.0.0.1), as that might be where you're getting the issue stem from.

Anyway, with the attached web-links attached you should find my setup. Beware, it's for a UK PSTN though, although I assume your 3102 would come preconfigured for US POTS (as most of these damn things do!)

Mike,

I'm a bit confused I think. I should've told you how my Linksys SPA 3102 is setup on the network itself. I have Cable internet coming into the House. From that the network goes to a a Dlink 825 Router. The Digital phone comes out of the modem into the Line port on the SPA3102. I have the Lan port on the Linksys conntected to the Dlink Router but nothing connected on on the WAN port.

Questions:

1. Do I need to connect the WAN or Lan port or both if the Linksys SAP3102 is behind the Router?
2. I need to use LINE 1 (PSTN) provided by my internet provider as the inbound and outbound line?

It should connect to the wan port
and I explained ho do you now your wan ip
please read and set carefuly

It goes as per my post above ref: the internet port.

My SPA3102 is inside my firewall. The big problem is that the SPA3102 is designed to be a firewall of it's own.

In the UK, we can't (yet, due to BT's stupid monopoly) get ADSL lines without having a POTS line. Hence my setup is a POTS line, upon which broadband is enabled. The PSTN side of that POTS line goes into the Line port, and the broadband side goes into my Cisco 837 router. I use the Cisco as the default gateway (obviously), and as such the SPA3102 is within that NAT boundary when the LAN is plugged into it's Internet port. Confusing, I know, but that's the mode in which to use these things when they're so convinced they should be doing the firewalling for you instead of a proper router.

HTH
Mike.

Thank you both for all your help, galal and Mike. Everything is working great! Thanks again. Now on to setting up my attendant..etc.

You're welcome :)

Well..I think I spoke too soon. Here's what's going on now:

1. I can take inbound and make outbound calls on my softphone only if LINE 1 on the SPA 3102 is disabled. If I enable it, I can't call inbound or outbound from my softphone or my analog phone hooked up to the PHONE PORT on the Linksys SPA 3102. I get dial tone, but when I make a call from the Analog it dials then goes to busy on any outside line. When I point my inbound to my Analog ext, 2000, analog phone will not ring.

Any ideas? I verified the Line 1 port has the settings that galal wanted be to put in there.

I would assume it's something to do with a port conflict on 5060 between the two setups. Why do you need to keep that enabled? Just go 100% VoIP :)

(I use the Snom M3 at home with one of these and it works a treat)

I'm actually using PORT 5060 with Line 1 and 5061 with PSTN. I need to use the analog becuase I have no IP Phones as of yet, only two softphones. I would like to setup the digital attendant to give the caller a choice:

1- Analog phone setup as ext 2000 using Line 1
2-My softphone
3-my daughter's softphone
4- vmail for my cousin who is staying with us for a while
5-repeat the message.

I don't think you can use the same 3102 as a VoIP gateway AND an ATA at the same time?

Hmm...well..I bit the bullet and just ordered teh SNOM M3 from newegg. Should be here Friday. I'll let youknow how I make out.

Thanks
Mike

If you follow then instructors
Just follow
You'll get analogue phone and pstn line

And your port settings correct

I followed the instructions and still had those issues mentioned. What PORT should LINE 1 be? That's not in your config that you recommended? What SIP port should be on 3cx? The Gateway port and PSTN port I have are 5061 on 3cx and SPA3102.

The issues are, I could not receive inbound calls on the Analog PHone hooked to Line 1?

ports in spa3102
5060 for line1
5061 for pstn

poth must be enabled

ports in 3CX
5060 for extension
5061 for pstn gateway

Well my luck is just crap. galal..I had it setup like that and it didn't work..again..my analog extension would not ring.

Pentangle..I recevied the snom m3 and I can't get it to register to the gateway....i'm not sure what' going on.

Very frustrated.

Hello,
If I'm in your place
I'll reinstall windows, 3CX and spa3102 from factory settings
try to use a pc with good specifications

The name's Mike :)

Have you checked whether you have the firewall enabled on the server? (if so, disable it).

The Snom M3 is a piece of cake to configure, so if you're having this sort of issue it sort of points towards something like a crappy firewall product being in the way.

Just a quick update..after working with SNOM it appears that some models are defective and can't get a DHCP address. They are aware of it and I am returning my phone for a replacement. I'll update this post when I get the new phone.

Thanks for everyone's help.

On another note, anyone using the SNOM's with the SNOM repeater? What kind of range are you getting?

Thanks
Mike

Well, I received my second Snom M3 and still having issues trying to obtain DHCP address. Matt or Mike, can one of you guys help out here?
