Hi I'd like to set a SIP ID number 9 to call receptionist for an hotel. But if I can add SIP IP 9 in concerned extension then I'm not able to modify in Network /FQDN as in Hosted this is hidden.

So how to solve this?

Direct SIP is not available for the 3CX Hosted installations and it cannot be enabled.

Why would you need it? To have a one digit number to call for reception?

Hello Nick,
Yes that's it , reception is used to be called by 9 internally, and they like also to do the same for the kitchen

Is there a workaround? or there's a no way road?

Even on dedicated hosted VM ?

No workarounds. Yes even on hosted.

Hosted by 3CX blocks License, Network, Parameters and Templates page. Even for dedicated.

Thus why we host ourselves all the time.

Hi Fred,
I was too doing like you until 3CX ask us to go on the Hosted 3CX road , perhaps I will step back if too often I find things not available on hosted.

They want you to, but sometimes forget that some of us like having control, and features.

CFD, Script IVRs, Failover, etc. All not available via Hosted.

It's good for smaller/simpler setups. Otherwise, go self-hosted. We use Vultr.

Yes for sure it's frustrating having some settings missing, I can understand on startup but hosted dedicated could be little more like self -hosted.
Well, there's no dead man ;) , next time I will check littlemore before ordering, if I may have a problem to use hosted 3CX.

This has nothing to do with hosted or not. I asked for the use case. I will revert with a much simpler way to do this because it's important of course, dialing 9 or 0 for reception.

Soon many restrictions will be removed on 3cx hosted though support might be effected in the same way like it is on premise.

@ConceptsWeb Yes of course we want you to, we know how to manage 3cx and manage tens of thousands of machines. Sorry your choice of hoster is completely wrong.

Hello,
This is a good news, hope "soon" is not too far from now ;)

Is this meaning SIP ID won't be necessary to get the same result?

Why can't you use a blf or a shortcut on phone config by the way. Blf is perfect for this.

Unfortunately, no BLFs , rooms are with DECT W56H on W80DM :(

This morning I discovered another small missing info on the hosted 3CX V18 SP6 PBX, I'm custom on all others pbxs I have, to send an email notification when backup is done OK, but this setting is no more available in email notification settings.

We will rethink this for dedicated installs. Thanks for the feedback..... I dont see with a problem with Direct SIp and some other parameters. We want to make hosted more customizable without it affecting support....

HI Nick
good news if hosted 3CX can fit nearer than self hosted, I don't want to create support job , hope only to get little more flexible settings ;)

Hi there Yes we want to open this up, first is CFD and then many other things. Just takes time to review the policies and impact of removal.I would say after update 7 we will be able to remove a lot of restrictions.

It should be noted though that some limitations are applied for valid security reasons. You could bypass them using self hosted, but you would have a security issue. So for example direct SIP has an issue that it allows for calls to extensions directly, this is the problem and why we switch it off. So for some locked down on premise installs it was OK but for public cloud not so much.

Self hosting is really only for larger installs with IT teams who know what they are doing and not for small installs by smaller resellers to bypass 3CX hosting as customer ends up hacked and 3CX name damaged.

Hi Nick, how can we get around the restriction with apartments having to call with zero for receptionist? Can you suggest a trick?
