Do softphones need re-provisioning after migrating 3CX server to cloud?

Currently running on-prem Windows server.

Planned:

• New installation of 3CX on a Windows server in cloud > restore from backup
  • Should I run a backup of on-prem with Licence key information/ FQDN & Conference checked or not?
    
• Public IP will be changing but FQDN is not ( i am aware of up to 6 hours DNS propagation delay due to IP change)
  • Local IP of the server is changing
    
• I know that physical phones must be re-provisioned but how about softphones (Android/ IOS / Windows / Mac)?

Backup with license key and fqdn as these are not changing. Just make sure you switch off the old server before setting up the old server

On physical phones, you will have to delete the existing config within 3cx and set them up again, unless you are going to setup a site to site vpn and provisioning url on the phones is using the fqdn and not 3cx ip address

How are you going to connect the phones - stun or 3bc if you are not using site to site vpn where you config the phones as local

Softphones should be OK, as I believe there will try to use fqdn using 3cx tunnel

Phones will connect in stun mode. I also think softphones should work, not 100% positive though. Will know by Saturday.

remember using Stun , each phone at the same location needs the following

1. Different sip / rtp ports
2. Phones need a fixed ip , can be a DHCP reservation
3. On the firewall protecting the phones, you need to setup port forwarding of the corredt pots to the Iip address of the phone

yeah thinking more of this, Stun is going to be aloat of work. I should use SBC.

It depends on the IP address and FQDN. If phones were locally provisioned with a local subnet then yes.

Most phones are fairly easy to reprovision. How many users need to be reprovisioned?

50 users, yeah they were provisioned with a local subnet. I am doing this now and it seems like I have to wait for DNS propagation to complete first, which can take up to 6 hrs > then see if provisioning is required.
