Does "Office Holidays" config in the "Office Hours" menu properly take over CFD script?

Hi everyone,

One of my customers will be exceptionnaly closed tomorrow and asked me to change the greeting message in order to let people know they're closed.

There is a call flow script on this PBX, which sends incoming calls to Ring Group 800. The greeting message is directly on the Ring Group, not in the CFD, contrary to the messages for Tuesday afternoon and Out of Office Hours.

Here is an overview of the Call Flow...I don't know if making it was relevant, or if this could be done via the Web GUI directly...it was made by another guy who is not here anymore and never documented anything...

Ring Group 800 is part of the "Secretariat" Department.

If I configure the holiday message in "Office Hours - Secretariat - Office Holidays", will it take over the Call Flow only for tomorrow?

I configured it as such:

NameDateTimeOccursPrompt
Fermeture 26.0926 September 202512:00 AM - 12:00 AMOnceFermeture 26.09.wav

If not, I'm open to suggestions as it is the first time I have to do this.

[EDIT]

In the meantime, I also found the "When on holiday route to" in the General section of the Ring Group...I guess I also have to select what I want it to do and choose the announcement, like this?

[/EDIT]

Thanks a lot!

Hello,

This depends on your 3CX inbound routing configuration. You're sending inbound calls to the CFD app, but maybe you're doing this only during office hours, and then if you set a holiday, the CFD app will be skipped completely. But it could also be configured to route all calls to the CFD app, at all times, and in that case the CFD app will transfer to the ring group, and the ring group can play this prompt.

So there is not a yes or no answer, you need to check the entire configuration, from the SIP Trunk and how you route inbound calls, to the CFD app, and the ring group.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply!

I just checked the SIP Trunk and its default route is the CFD 24/7, as Office Hours are not set in the Web GUI.

In the CFD script, calls are sent to Ring Group 800 during office hours. This might mean that if I do it the way I just showed in my original post, the Holiday message will play during Office Hours tomorrow, not the whole day (which would be sufficient, if it prevents me from having to modify the CFD just for a day ).

Just to be sure: I found this doc page about Holiday Scripts while reseaching: https://www.3cx.com/docs/holiday-script/

I'm wondering if I actually need to add this script too, or if simply configuring the Office Holidays in the Ring Group like I did would work.

Also, if it is mandatory, I don't know how to let the PBX know that it should use the holiday script instead of the usual script, only for a day (without having to deactivate the usual script manually).

No need to use that script. That's another possible approach, but using the CFD app and the prompt in the ring group should suffice. You're good to go in my opinion.

Thanks I'll keep an eye on it first thing in the morning tomorrow and confirm if it worked or not.

Just checked: worked like a charm

Thanks a lot again!
