Does Shared Parking require phones to be on same LAN?

Normally, all our IP phones are in the same office on same LAN. I removed one phone to move to a different office, miles away. Able to get the phone up and running and make calls successfully, but the shared parking feature doesn't seem to work. I will have an active call. Press the DSS key/Line key that is supposed to put the call in SP1 (shared parking slot 1) for anyone else to pickup. The phone screen doesn't seem to indicate that there is a held call (no indicator light) in that SP. The person on the other end of the call feels as though they are on hold, but the call is essentially lost and I don't know how to pick it back up again.

On the phone screen (Yealink T46U), it looks like the SP indicator shows that it hasn't registered or something -- green phone handset icon next to a red X. I assume this means some sort of connection/registration hasn't occurred.

What am I missing here?

Shared parking is independent of phone location. It more or less transfers the call to SP1, or from SP1.

You said you moved the phone, how is it connected? Is it its own router phone? If STUN are all the ports forwarded to it?

The Panel in the web client/Desktop App should show the call and its status.

Thanks...this is how I assumed things were supposed to work, but wasn't sure.

Directly to a Ubiquiti Dream Machine SE. Haven't done anything with port forwarding in this case.

I'm just logged into the 3cx hosted admin interface -- will the call be visible there? I can see a call is active, but don't see anything in particular about which line the call is on.

ok. I had never checked out the web client before--people in this office only use desk phones. Was able to see that the phone can transfer calls to SP1, but there's no way to get the call back to this desk phone. So the call just sits in limbo--I assume one of the phones at the main office would be able to pick up the call from SP1 as they normally do.

I've now added port forwarding to the phone for ports 3478-3479. No change in behavior.

I don’t think that model can be a router phone. You can install the SBC software on PC there if available…? It’s a more reliable connection than STUN. https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/ip-phones/#h.dm06zzq8r7vg

In the web client log in as that extension and on the panel right click and you should be able to unpark the call. In the web client dialer popup set the web client to control that phone instead of using the web client for audio.

@muddy don't waste time troubleshooting this further, the solution is to

a) Install a 3CX SBC

or

b) Replace it with a Router Phone model (which contains an SBC)
