Hi,

I'm learning how to use Call Control API. I know coding but I'm not experienced with .NET Core on Windows or Linux. I'm mostly experienced on scripting languages coding.

I already have made progress starting with the Call Control API samples. I have been able to code what I want on a Windows 3CX machine.

My next task is to code the project from scratch not using the samples, compile it and install the binaries on a linux machine as a service.

I already found info on how to make a service from a .NET Core linux console app.

My question is, Does 3CX linux ISO image include .NET Core runtime or do I need to install it? I read $PATH variable and it doesn't contain any special path for dotnet. And I couldn't find any dotnet folder/file on bin nor sbin folders. Maybe it is installed somewhere outside of $PATH. Is it?

Yes, it is installed. 3CX uses .NET Core everywhere, so the same works on Windows and Linux.

I have done almost all progress I need.
I have installed the runtime because I have not been able to find the installed one and I needed to progress. Now I know all the process and I know it works.

I will try to look for the already installed runtime now.

I have finished all what I wanted to do including coding a service for the app.

I'm not able to find the included dotnet runtime in 3cx ISO and my code works perfectly with the version of .NET core runtime I have installed.

So, is there any problem for 3CX phone system functionality installing dotnet runtime on my own as I did? The PBX seems to be working just fine but I want to be sure it is not a problem.

I install dotnet runtime using these commands,
Code:
wget -qO- https://packages.microsoft.com/keys/microsoft.asc | gpg --dearmor > microsoft.asc.gpg
sudo mv microsoft.asc.gpg /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/
wget -q https://packages.microsoft.com/config/debian/9/prod.list
sudo mv prod.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/microsoft-prod.list
sudo chown root:root /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/microsoft.asc.gpg
sudo chown root:root /etc/apt/sources.list.d/microsoft-prod.list
sudo apt-get update
supo apt-get install dotnet-runtime-2.1

and it gets installed in /usr/bin/dotnet

@edossantos has recommended me to do a self-contained deployment and so I did.

That way I don't need to install dotnet runtime just in case that could interfere with 3CX Phone System.
