I'm trying to follow the instructions on how to upgrade from v18 to v20. It is a On-Premise install.
When I go to updates the V20 update does not show up.
I tried to follow these steps and when I choose to download the .iso all I get is v18.
Is there any other place to download v20.

Deploy via ISO

  1. Log in to the Management Console.
  2. Take a full backup configuration by going to Backup and Restore.
  3. Download and save your backup outside of the instance.
  4. Uninstall 3CX V18.
  5. Install 3CX V20 using this .iso file available from your customer portal downloads page
  6. Upload and restore your backup.

are you on prem with windows hosting it? v20 is not out for windows yet.

Theres no v20 for Windows yet. The Debian one will pull the v20 from the internet.

Hi @LCS01 you may check the Linux installation manual here

It shows the following:

To install Debian for 3CX:
  1. Download the latest 3CX ISO. For V20 ISO click here. For V18 ISO click here.

If you are using Windows, please note that currently v20 for windows has not been released yet, only for Linux.

Thanks for everyone's reply. Is there a release date for v20 Windows?

We do not as yet have an ETA on when it will be, but it should not be too far away now.

Thank you. With that is there a EOL for v18? Is it May 31st as it is for Linux and Hosted 3CX users?

The deadline is actually to update all systems hosted with 3cx to v20 by May 31, 2024.

Additionally, any partners using their NFR keys (not for resale keys) that partners receive from us to use for their own systems and test systems that are installed on v18 must also update these systems to v20.

As a customer using a commercial key and v18 installed on a Windows machine on-prem, you are not affected by this deadline.

Version 18 will still be supported on Windows and Linux. We have not yet released a date for v18 EOL, but we have said it will be around six months from the release of v20, which was on February 29th, 2024.

@Charles_3CX Just to ask is the June 21 date I see being mentioned for the Google Push API not a concern?

@LCS01 Note Windows will require an Enterprise license going forward...you may wish to consider the Linux version anyway.

Hold up. I would need to upgrade to Enterprise to upgrade to v20?

If you use Google Transcription API, then you will need to update to v20 to use the new V2 API, yes.

yes.

"Currently V20 is available on Linux only: A Windows installer will come at a later stage and will require an enterprise edition. We’ll upgrade any PRO editions running Windows to Enterprise for the duration of the subscription. More information to follow."

Will this be the "Update 1" that will allow native use of Teams client to make phone calls?

Hi Team
@CFP This feature has been shipped couple of weeks ago. So if you depend on this feature, it is delivered.
Update 2 will have Profile status notifications sync - either from TEAMS to 3CX OR 3CX to TEAMS
