I initiated a call through 3CX to a landline and the call from my side was perfect quality. The person who I was speaking with said there was a great deal of echo so the call was terminated and then re-initiated; the same problem persisted.

I have just downloaded the two calls and I can confirm there is a great deal of echo.

Any ideas where to start?

Was this over A SIP trunk, or a PSTN Gateway? If they are hearing echo, then their level is too high. Have you tested this with just the one number, or to/from multiple destinations? I have found that some echo issues have arisen because the person at the other end is using a headset, or a device with some amplification. If you are using a PSTN Gateway, there should be Pad settings to reduce the incoming level.

This was on my trunk and they were on a non voip line. I have since listened to other calls which my system has recorded and therefore using the same trunk and these calls seem to be okay.

Hi Lusk,

Chances are, the other side had the problem then.

Note that the trunk does not do echo cancellation, the devices are the ones doing it.
