Hello,

On v18, SIP-trunks could be deactivated by disabling both incoming and outgoing calls.

This is no longer the case on V20, SIP-trunks remaining active even w/ all calls disabled. Editing the SIP trunk credentials (to make them invalid) results in regular error notifications at each refresh time. So, the only way to disable a SIP-trunk seems to be deleting it!

Has anyone found another, more elegant method to disable a SIP-trunk? Besides, it would be nice if 3CX would finally introduce an additional 'Disable/enable'-option on SIP-trunks :(

What are you trying to do? For what reason you need to disable the whole trunk?

I need to analyze a problem on a SIP-trunk for a customer. So, I was planning to add the trunk to our lab installation for testing out of office hours. In order to do so, I should disable the trunk at the customer's office.Once done, I should disable the SIP trunk on the lab and enable it on the customer's 3CX.
This is just one example where a disable/enable option would be helpful. Another one could be to test alternate outgoing call routes, etc.

Ok, i understand. For stuff like this i always delete one letter from the sip server and put it back afterwards. The notification for this is the only problem.

But anyway, i always test this stuff on the customers pbx. Its more easy to find the solution on the system who hast the problem. My test environment has his own trunk and so on.

I'm just in the process of switching an older PBX to 3CX and have just found this out.

I am shocked and cannot believe that such an obvious feature has never been implemented (especially as it isn't the first time this has been mentioned). It is imperative that an option to disable registration on a SIP trunk is added.

I wouldn't even mind that much, but the constant email notifications are a PITA.

SIP trunk settings --> Options ---> Disable the options "Allow inbound calls" and "Allow outbound calls."
This disables the trunk along with registration. This is back in V20

Sorry for reviving a kind of old thread - So this will disable the SIP-Trunk so that it does not make any Requests to the Provider?

Just to make sure, because we want to prepare the SIP-Trunk for the Installation on next Monday.

Yes. This will deregister the trunk and you will see it as unregistered (in RED)
