I let the free license expire before upgrading to the paid license. My deployed server is in Azure. It is up and running but I'm curious if I will have to redeploy now that I upgraded it to a paid version or is there a way to make the existing one work again. I can get to the VM fine but I can't get the 3CX management console.

Did you paid for upgrading the free licence or do you bought a new one ?

If same licence has been upgraded from free to commercial then in MC you should try to refresh licence infos

Do you have a backup done from your free version?

Upgraded the free one

Do not switch on the old 3CX on, as it has the same license key.

You can not run the two systems with the same license key.

There isn't a second system. I want the original one to be used.

I would check that all 3cx services are started, or reboot the vm.

I'm not familiar with how to verify services are running but it has been rebooted several times

For additional clarification I'm running 3CX on Debian 4.9.168

The current version (16) of 3CX is supported only on Debian 9 Stretch. I’m not sure if any version of 3CX was supported on v4.xx of Debian.

Do you have the 3CX backup zip file? It will be far easier just to rebuild using the 3CX iso image or Debian 9 and restore the zip file.

perhaps as i asked you if you had a complete backup from free version, should be quicker to reinstall v16.2 on VM and restore config during install

Hi Centrex, same idea same time :)

The existing one was created simply using the "Deploy" option after registering and this was in July. So I'm confident it isn't an issue with the OS version. Thanks for the suggestions. Deploy a new one then restore from backup, thanks.

not then restore

No , you restore DURING install not after

An expired license should not require redeployment if you are on V15.5.15502.6 and up.

If you cannot access the management console even after a reboot, you might have no choice than to redeploy (not because of the license, but because the instance is broken).

Hopefully you already have a good backup saved somewhere so you can restore during the redeployment stage.

Ok so this raises a number of questions since the management console appears to be the only issue. (I still receive notifications about IP’s attempting to access it being blacklisted) And registered phones can still make calls on it. As we are new to 3CX and the only thing we did to install or configure this system was click the deploy button and enter Azure data what is the optimal way to redeploy or fix this issue knowing that we do have a good backup.

Perhaps your IP is blacklisted in console, did you try to access MC from other location or other system with another public IP ?

if you have a mobile , share network and access via wifi connected on mobile

you are welcome,

Happy finally it was not so hard problem for you :)

Just to dispel a couple of inaccuracies:

1) the system does not take away your management console when the demo license expires. The simultaneous calls get downgraded and you may lose the ability to upgrade. So updating your license would not fix it in this case.

2) coincidences do happen, I'm sure you've had more than a fair share like all of us, but sometimes things seem connected when they aren't. Humans are pattern seeking machines and we often make false positives ;)

I made the suggestion to you since you said you were not familiar with the services, and also posted " Thanks for the suggestions. Deploy a new one then restore from backup, thanks" to get you up and running again. If you want to get more technical we are here to help of course :)
