I am a little bit puzzled
I configured a ring group where extension 1001 is part of it
if not answered it goes to VM of that extension.

I also have an extension 0000 which is not part of that ring group. in addition it has no DID assigned. However when a call is not answered on 1001 I see that extension 0000 is then ringing - I don't understand that at all. Other than internal calls and a transferred call to extension 0000 I would think that that extension should never receive external calls directly.

Doesn't happen with any other extension. Is extension 0000 something special that I am not aware of?

Hi AlexanderReichert,

Does the extension 0000 is the Operator Extension (you can check it in the Settings->PBX settings page)?

If so, this means that the caller is pressing the "*" when the call goes to Voice Mail of 1001.
Try to leave the Voice Mail and you will hear the following message "Record your message and press pound or press start to contact the operator".
You can change the Operator Extension and the calls will go there.
