Extension to extension calls

Hello,

I am new to the PBX System here and a test PBX is hosted on Azure.
If both extensions are using SBC locally, will the network traffic of the call between those two be the local or has to reach the cloud PBX?

As the extensions are local to the SBC, all traffic will be local.

I previously thought the traffic would be
ext1 <> SBC <> Cloud PBX <> SBC <> ext2

so it is actually just ext1 <> SBC <> ext2.
We are in a rural area and have to think of the ISP bandwidth seriously.

Please note that if call recording is enabled, RTP flow will go through the PBX in all cases.
