I am a starter of 3CX. Now, I built a 3CX on my office server and all the internal calls in my office LAN work. But when my phone connects with 4G, I can't make any call. Does the SIP trunk free in the management console support the calls outside the LAN? Or I should add a new SIP trunk or gateway.

Does the external call relate to the port opening? Should I open the required ports and try the external call first.

You mean, using the 3CX App on your mobile does not allow any calls when using 4G, but does when using Wifi? What about a Wifi hotspot?

There is no "free" trunk, for outside calls, included with 3CX. You will have to add a VoIP provider or Gateway.

Thanks, 3CX mobile App allows call when using my office wifi. I want to build a system that the user outside the office LAN can make a call to the user in LAN. That's why I ask whether the SIP trunk is free for outside calls. Lol

A call from the 3CX App , running on a mobile (externally), to an extension at the host, does not require trunks.

With 3CX (as with the vast majority of SIP PBXs), to be able to place an "outside" call, you must... subscribe to a service (hopefully a 3CX approved provider), create a trunk group to that provider, then make outbound rules to the trunk group.

Thanks, hope I could figure that out.

Pick your country, then look over the providers listed.

Depending on the type of service you want, there are a number to choose from. Their websites will give you the most information.

Thanks.
Before subscribing to a SIP service provider, should I approve all the firewall check? Since currently, the media server still shows 'full cone nat failed'.

Hi Oliver,

Firstly make a call from your 3CX mobile app on 4G, towards the extension number *888.

This is the Callback Echo Test to see if you can hear your own voice. If this works then you are ready for the next step.

Ensure the firewall checker passes: without this, subscribing to a SIP provider will very likely end up with problems. Make sure ports are forwarded correctly as per this list https://www.3cx.com/docs/ports/

Which may very well explain your problems, when attempting to call from outside the LAN.
