Fanvil X4 screen says "Handset is not onhook" with OK and EXIT soft button options

one fanvil x4 was showing this message "Handset is not onhook" with OK or EXIT as options. none of the buttons on the phone worked like it was locked up. the web UI was working fine. the handset button seemed to be working because it would turn the dialtone in the handset on and off

rebooted the phone and the issue went away. it's back a few days later and another reboot fixed it. now i'm just waiting

picture of the screen is attached. firmware is latest at 2.4.0.5572 with pbx at latest15.5.15502.6

It's shown if you end a call with the handset off hook. If the handset is in place there may be a problem with the hook button.

I have X3, 4 and 6 models with the latest firmware and I haven't experience this. Are you using a headset?

this has happened twice on only one phone. i am not using a headset. i'm waiting to see if it happens again and will probably swap the phone out and see what happens then.

just thought i'd post this odd behavior to see if anyone else has run across this issue.
