Solved Fanvil X7 - Provisioning fails - Invalid file

Good afternoon,

For some time now, our Fanvil X7 devices have been cyclically displaying the message "Invalid file".

Apparently the phone doesn't like the provisioning file anymore.

I have reset one and now I don't get it provisioned anymore, no matter what firmware I use. 3CX recommended or newer versions.

The message "Invalid file" remains.

Is there a workaround?

Can you take the same phone that has the issue, and connect it to another internet connection?

Maybe even connected directly to your ISP modem if possible?

We did not really eliminate the network so far..

We did, as we was able to use the same phone on the same network cable to provision to our 3cx server, and also used a fanvil x3 on the same cable to provision to the customers 3cx ok.

We've also brought the phone back to our office, and this morning tried to get it to provision with the same results.

So specific device refuses to provision even at your office, on your PBX?

It sounds like a faulty device. Check my private message too so we can do 1 more test.

It is the customer's phone and refuses to provision to their PBX, but provisions fine on ours. But other phones provision fine on theirs.

Check your BLFs and tell me if any of them contain the & character

Took it out of the BLF name and it worked straight away

This is a limitation of the devices unfortunately - Do not use special characters in Extension names or BLF labels.

With us it was actually due to an "&" at the BLF's.
