Fax Testing

Hey Guys,

I am attempting to do some fax testing with the 3cx and Relayfax from Alt-N. I am able to get the 3cx PBX setup and working. I am able to use the soft phone to sign into an extension to other extensions and make calls through our Beronet gateway.

I am running into an issue when i define a Fax Extension in the 3CX system. I attempt to call a fax extension from a 3cx softphone but nothing happens on the first out going call. The phone just sits there for a minute and then says it is On Hook. on the second call it does ring, but my fax server never picks up the extension. I have a second fax extension that when you call it nothing happens, just kind of sits there with dead air then disconnects.

I have 3 extension that i am working with on my 3cx:
Extension 1001 - Softphone
Extension 8000 - Fax Line 1
Extension 8001 - Fax Line 2

Extension 1001 works fine, can dial out no issues.
Extension 8000 Rings when i dial it, but fax software never picks up, so just rings for ever.
Extension 8001 Seems to do nothing when i call it, just dead air.

I am using an unlicensed version of the 3CX PVX.

Is there something that i am missing?

Hi there,
Please elaborate how is used the beronet gateway, do you want to receive faxes on the gateway then on analog fax machine or do you receive on the system fax extension for mail sending?
