Hi Everyone,

I have a 3cx v10 phone system and a standard fax machine. I added a new extension for fax. In my Linksys PAP2T ATA I added the extension information and it registered with no problem. However I am unable to send or receive faxes. Is it possible for this to even work or am I wasting my time?

I want to be able to send and receive faxes to my fax machine using my Linksys PAP2T ATA.

Thank you

What or who is providing the inbound signal to the 3CX system? Is it a SIp provider? Do they support T38? Take a look at the blog and do a search for fax and you will get more info about how it works and what is and is not possible.

The inbound signal is being provided by Broadvox and yes they are a sip provider that supports T38.

I am just not sure about the Linksys ATA working.

The PAP2T doesn't support T.38. PAP2 V2 does (supposedly). http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps10024/products_qanda_item09186a0080a35d2c.shtml

Here is a Cisco article, with some suggestions to increase your chances that it may work. But don't hold your breath.

Don't spend too much time on it, go buy an ATA that supports T.38, the SPA2102 or one of the new versions, the SPA122.

Thank you Leejor!
