Today I was pleasantly surprised that a Partner was linked to my account without my consent. Of course, I untied him, but I would like to get an explanation of how it happened unilaterally and assurances that this will not happen again. The prerogative of choosing a partner should be at least voluntary and only after our explicit consent has been obtained.

Binding a key to the partner can only happen in one of two ways:

- Key provided to you by a partner or partner trial/download link
- Linking it manually in the portal.

I suppose technically 3CX can also link on the back end, or at least they used to be able to, but that required consent from the license contact.

Hi @spf,

Note that you were linked to the partner account as you had a trial license key upgraded to a 60 day POC key. The escalation of a key to a POC key can only happen if connected to a partner (as it's done by a partner). This couldn't have happened without your consent as you'd have had to have requested or accepted an offer for the POC upgrade.

Thanks for the explanations, this is logical, this is exactly how it was six months ago. After trial period the partner was unlinked for other reasons, and the purchase of a license and further configuration of the system was completed without his participation.

It's about second re-link without our consent. Hopefully we don't have to unlink him all the time? :) In case if we will need a partner, we will bind him ourselves.

Thanks and Kalimera!

@spf, from what we can tell, you've got 3 installations linked to 1 license key. This should never happen, and you're currently experiencing why. You'll need to delete any instances you've previously installed to only leave 1 installation active.

Once you've only got 1 installation running, unlinking from your partner should stay permanent.

Thanks for the separate instruction. Unfortunately, the partner was notified about the duplicate, to which we received a reply that the instance will be deleted automatically and we do not need to do anything on our part.

We use private hosting and only one license. All others are invalid. If our violations are observed on your part, please tell us what needs to be done so that the situation normalizes.

Sounds like you need a new partner

Dont need it, thanks. Previous experience has shown that you need to rely solely on your own strength :)
Well, one bad partner is one bad partner. Not everyone.

I did not say that the partner is bad. Rather, it did not live up to expectations, and we had to independently study and configure the system.

And it is very strange that after the system has been working autonomously for several months, a partner linked the system without our consent.

a partner linked the system without our consent.
That is not possible. It cannot be linked from the Partner side. However, as @VasilisV_3CX mentionned, if more than 1 instance is using the same license, that binding can move around since it is associated to the license, and not the 3CX PBX instance.

Make sure to get rid of those 2 other instances and unlink the partner from your remaining system.
