When I use the phone for forward, it works transfer to local extension. It won't work transfer to external number. "Call Transfer Failed"

When I use the web port for forward to external number, it is working fine.

Anyone have a solution on this?

That is saying you don't have an outbound rule matching that number so 3CX doesn't know what to do with it.

Mumm... I tested the Outbound rule and it is working fine.
I setup a special rule for testing and need to dial prefix "8".
It dial out fine on the phone. But still does not work if i do forwarding on the phone.

OK. it is working now. If I empty out the extension group in the Outbound Rule than it is working.

Hi Tom,

The system extensions of the PBX are not user extensions. They do not have a phone provisioned on them and they are not part of any extension group in the PBX.

Outbound calls from system extensions will fail when you have extension criteria and/or extension group criteria defined. The PBX will look for rules which do not have extension based restrictions defined in order to process the call.

The solution is the following. Order your rules so any extension specific rules are at the top of the list. Insert a blocking outbound rule for all user extensions or the extension groups underneath the extension rules.

Underneath this catch all blocking rule, add the rule or rules without extension or extension group restrictions so the system extensions can place the calls, unrestricted.

See slide 10 and 11 specifically
