Hi,

One of my customers had a network related security issue and the network techs decided to close as much as possible to protect the network.
This included the access to the internet of the 3CX PBX. Recently I wanted to do some remote maintenance and could not access the server.
After a lot of discussions and arguments they finally relented and opened up the internet again for the PBX, in the mean time however their certificate has expired and their FQDN is no longer listed in the partners portal. It is still available on the dashboard within 3cx, but can no longer be renewed. I tried manually but got this error:

2026/04/08 17:20:55.795|0012|Info| [PostInstall.ErpService] Error creating FQDN: status = ERROR, ErrorCode = DomainZoneExhausted, Error = Domain zone mybe (my3cx.be) is exhausted and can not be used. Please choose another domain.

What now?

Any help would be appreciated.

Your System was offline for too long which caused the FQDN to be released from the license key.

Try restarting the system server from the services section on the dashboard and then refresh the license key again.

Let us know if this takes care of it.

I restarted the server earlier and now clicked on the reload symbol on the License details page, but the FQDN on the partner site remains empty.

Then i suggest you manually rebind the fqdn. In the partner portal, find the key and start the install wizard, go up to the point where you select an FQDN for it. Important: Make absolutely sure you use the exact same fqdn as you see on your PBX's dashboard. Press next and then you can return to the portal to check if the fqdn is now bound.

If yes, all you'll need to do is give it 24 hours for the PBX to automatically renew the ssl certs or you can actually force it to renew them now just follow this guide
https://www.3cx.com/blog/docs/ssl-certificate-renewal/
