Hello,

I can see on the website that the free 3CX PBX software can have 2 simultaneous calls, but is there a maximum limit to the number of extensions it can have? Thanks.

With 3CX there are no limits to the number of extensions, digital receptionists (auto attendant), ring groups or call queues.

The limits are simultaneous calls as well as if you have Standard or Pro edition.

The maximum number of extensions is based on the number of digits you pick for your extension length when installing.
http://www.3cx.com/docs/installing-3cx/#h.vf5aeyogfnos

2,3,4 or 5.
In each instance, 1 is reserved for Voicemail, 1 for PIN Protect, 1 for Fax and 1 for Conference.

With 2 - you can use 10-99 (85)
With 3 - you can use 100-999 (895)
With 4 - you can use 1000-9999 (8995)
With 5 - you can use 10000-99999 (89995)

In some cases, you may want to reserve internal extensions from being used - ie: in USA, 411 and 911 may not get used because these are used for other services and may cause confusion.

Hi,

I think the point is, how many extensions one can have since only 4ppl can talk in internal calls ou 2 in external and if you connect and extension to an external number than 1 call will take the 2 SC blocking any other calls.

What you can do is configure your system and when it~s ready to go, buy your license with the proper number of SC according to your needs.

Good luck!

the point was clear: "is there a maximum limit to the number of extensions it can have"
