For the last few days i have been getting frequent disconnections of the SIP trunk resulting in calls being dropped and delay to come back.

I use 3cx hosted instance with a supported SIP provider, Modulus in Greece. I have already contacted them and they cannot see any issues from their end. I enabled verbose logging and i can see it fails with

Registration failed for: Lc:10001(@modulus-Main[<sip:[email protected]:0/UDP>]); Cause: Cause: 408 Request Timeout/REGISTER from local
and the email i receive from 3CX is
Registration at modulus-Main has failed.

Destination (sip:185.73.43.250:5060;lr) is not reachable, DNS error resolving FQDN, or service is not available.

I have been constantly pinging the the voips.modulus.gr (which resolves to the above IP) i haven't received a single timeout during the time the SIP was down so I would exclude problem from the provider's side or DNS error.

After the that it seems to take 2 minutes to try again so we are practically left each times with 2 minutes out of service in addition to the dropped calls.

Any ideas what to look for next?

What dns is your 3cx using?

What dns is your 3cx using?
OP said :" I use 3cx hosted instance " so DNS is not in their hands but 3CX ,no ?

Exactly, it is hosted by 3CX so nothing network related i can touch there. The SIP trunk is setup with FQDN voips.modulus.gr however when the issue occurs the FQDN still resolves without an issue.

Have you also contact with the provider to clarify if there is any issue from their side?

As i mentioned on the original post, I did and they couldn't see a problem, nor anyone else had complained for the same issue.

Is it possible to create a support ticket so we can check this further?
You may contact with your partner first.

I will need to purchase a support ticket first if I am not mistaken, correct?

You may contact your partner first and if is is required they can open a ticket to the support.
