Fritzbox ATA configuration troubles

I have a Fritzbox 7170 and I'm having trouble with its configuration.

I have already set it as a VOIP Gateway, and also as a VOIP provider, in 3CX.

So, when I use a softphone (X-Lite), I can make outbound calls that use the fritz as a provider.
I can also receive calls when someone calls the PSTN line at the Fritzbox.

The problem is that I don't know how to use the ATA extensions (FON1), with is a normal telephone plugged to the ATA ports of the Fritzbox, allowing me to make and receive calls.

So, my idea is to make ATA connected phone act like the softphones. Can someone help me?

Had a look at the manual (on-line), doesn't look like it goes into a lot of detail.
This was the bit from their manual about adding a VoIP line...

5.1 Entering Account Information and Internet
Numbers for Internet Telephony
If you configured the Internet connection and Internet telephony
using the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN Configuration Wizard,
the required data are already entered.
You can set up additional Internet numbers in FRITZ!Box Fon
WLAN. To do this you will need the corresponding account information
from your Internet telephony provider.
Proceed as follows to set up an additional Internet number:
1. Start a web browser.
2. Enter fritz.box in the address field.
3. Select the “Settings” menu.
4. Click the “Internet Telephony” command in the “Telephony”
menu.
5. Click the “New Internet Number” button.

6. Enter the account information you received from your
Internet telephony provider in the appropriate fields.
7. Click the “Apply” button.
The new number is added to the list of Internet numbers.


That is about it. As it doesn't show any examples, I'm wondering if you can set the VoIP provider server as being on the WAN or LAN.
