FTP auto backup failing

I am having an issue with one installation FTP automatic backup giving this error.

3CX Phone System tried to backup but failed due to the following reason(s):
FluentFTP.FtpCommandException: RNFR command failed.
   at FluentFTP.FtpClient.Rename(String path, String dest)
   at _3cxFilesystemImplementations.FTP.FtpFilesystem.Move(String filename1, String filename2)
   at BackupRestoreSchedule.BackupJob.Execute(IJobExecutionContext context)

All other functions work with the backup, I can do a manual backup to FTP and delete existing backups but the auto backup fails nightly. It appears to be with the renaming of old files for the rotation. Any advise anyone can give?

There was another thread about this (SMB though) and it was a permissions issue.

This is clearly a FTP server/permissions problem. 3CX is trying to rename the files and your FTP server won't let it.

On your FTP server you need to allow all rights, not just create. 3CX will need to rename and delete files as well.
