Update: V15.5 is no longer available. Download the latest version here. You\'ve probably already figured out that we\'re working in high gear to get the V15.5 release out to you. Now we\'re delivering to you the BETA version and the final release is just around the corner! The Alpha was received very well by our partners and users, especially the n...

Hi,

I have a bit of a problem with the soft phone. I have loaded it on 6 PC's. We are going through a testing Phase at the moment so it might be me, doing the wrong thing. I am able to make 1-2 calls from the softphone. When I make another call. I click call, it flashes up quickly then disappears. The only way to fix it, is I have to click on the little phone button, click Desktop(CTI) then click back onto softphone, works for 2 calls then does the same thing. We are going to be rolling this out to our call centre but this problem cannot happen!

Dan

CTI cannot be disabled if your handset supports it. Why would you want to disable it? if you dont want to use the client, make a call from the phone. Or use the client against 3CX client.

Also the END button should work. Maybe it is a cache issue. End must be enabled and you can end a call before it is answered. What phone are you using? Maybe its a firmware issue.

Hi Nicky, my misunderstanding ... I thought the web client was targeting an alternative to the softphone client.

We're running Yealink T46G's, with up to date firmware (refer screenshot from post #37 on this article). I wonder if it again is related to multiple identical handsets on the same extension coming from different locations via SBC.

Could I also draw your attention to post #37 for your comment?

Thanks, David.

I just spun up a new Debian 8 instance and 15.5 was installed, not the production 15.0. Is there a reason why the repo is installing 15.5 when it's in beta? I'm not using the beta repo.

Enabling the Chrome Click 2 Call Extension breaks my ZOHO CRM. Anyone got any ideas?

Nicky, I opened a ticket with support and was informed that there is currently not a posted version of the 3CX SBC that supports uaCSTA and that an SBC update is required to be able to make CTI type calls from the new webUI.

I am awaiting a download link from 3CX support for a beta version of the SBC to support this feature. Without it, I gather than click to call from the webUI will only initiate a 'MakeCall' I wanted to update in the event others are running into this issue since the resolution is updating the SBC software per 3CX support.

Question... are there any plans to add an auto update feature to the SBC? In a situation like this, it requires the partner to spend quite a bit of time updating SBCs for customers to be able to take advantages of the new introduced features.

Queues we will check
Yealink - try to factory reset the phone and try again. Should work flawlessly. Where is the phone? same lan as pbx or remote?

I'm not on 15.5 yet, but I agree that the setup sounds less than optimal. Does this mean it shuffles the folder once ever, and then uses them in that order from then on?

I'd really just like it to randomly select a track from the MOH folder each time hold music is summoned for any reason. I know I personally detest being placed on hold multiple times and hearing the same song. An hour of that will drive anyone mad. I've thought about writing a script that will rename all the music files on the server every so often just to fool 3CX into playing different things.

That might be an intern solution until 3CX does it natively, I'll have to see if my colleague can do this for me via powershell, he likes doing the scripting and I think will enjoy VAD when it becomes available again.

Just took a peak at WILDIX, you have to use their proprietary phones. Only support for one US based SIP trunk provider. No pricing on their web site. No thanks.

It's not that we want to build Rome in a day.
The fact is that from 3CX v12.5 to 3CX v14 and from 3CX v14 to 3CX v15 there's a progressive loosing of functions... (HTTP API calls, VAD, Hotel Module, WebRTC call, etc... ).
I know that also new function is here, but new ones in exchange of old ones already in use is a BIG issue, in my opinion.

We ( and I think others...) are waiting for those because BEFORE v15 (and v14 in some cases) they were functional and now they aren't and we can't sell new license because customers want it...

I think that continually increase version number loosing functionality is not the best product policy...

We are loosing sell opportunities because of that.
If we are the only ones here, then I apologize...

Now that your tone is more productive, I will explain..

From "v12.5 to 3CX v14 and from 3CX v14 to 3CX v15 " there is a period of like 3- 4 years.
In these years, technology evolves, new authentication methods spawned, web practices changed. You cannot leave the HTTP API like that and call yourself secure. So we made an API which yes you need to develop against.

VAD - This is coming soon - currently in testing. Also you should have seen the management console by now getting prepared for the launch ot the VAD. You have the v14 VAD. If you depend so much on the VAD you can remain on V14 (still supported for this reason). Whats the point of releasing the vad when the internal v15 engine is not ready? We need what we call TIME. And certain things have dependencies in software. We cannot push the vad if we are not ready. And we cannot speed the Vad for 2 % of the people leaving the the pbx without a feature which 98% of our customer base need.

The Hotel module - Announced now - no need to mention it now - And included in the Management console so yes we delayed but you don't need to pay for it. Even this is wrong? Delayed for a couple of months but included in the license. If you want it now, buy the v14.

Webrtc - Webrtc depended and still depends on GOOGLE. It used to break in a different part of the world every single day because of chrome updates. I mean we had to remove it temporarily and come up with a better solution because it was making our software unpredictable - the features we needed were too tied and controlled by when google chrome decided to autoupdate my chrome (And all the other chromes in the world). Webrtc you have webmeeting as a replacement. Yes it s not 1 to 1 identical - but you CAN work and we told you a replacement is coming. You dont need to do this on the forum every week.

Hi Nicky.

What version is pbxexpress currently spinning up? Alpha, Beta or production? We have several clients we need to spin up this month, and we can't use alpha (no upgrade to Beta or production). I really don;t want to go back to manually installing the O/S and the 3CX...Pbxexpress is pretty awesome, but hopefully, it's for more than just testing!

Please advise - thanks.

Pbx express is currently running from the beta repository.
But going forward, pbxexpress will take production updates only. PBX Express was released 2 months ago. So in this phase there was no other better version to put there than the beta. Leave this in our hands. We will always make sure to put the best and greatest build there.

The ability to unlink reseller from a license....

If a relationship between customer and reseller ends, it should be for the reseller to unlink this, surely? Not the end-user....!

Was this a requested feature? What was the reason for adding?

The end user has the right to leave a reseller. Why not?
Lets say for example the reseller tomorrow disappears. Leaving the 3CX User on his own, with emails bouncing back and his pbx outdated and vulnerable?

Of course the user should have the right. Why not?

It just seems a bit too easy to me. Once I removed it from our account, it was completely gone. No sign of the license whatsoever.

Will you be updating the portal to show old licenses that have been unlinked for a short period of time? It would also be handy to be able to unlink licenses from our reseller accounts.

I can't see V15.5 under the support system so not sure where to log this.

Need to pick the correct spelling for final release....

Good morning. I wanted to see if there were plans to add the ability to make calls via the web interface/dialer using it as a webRTC softphone (similar to the functionality that google provides to businesses via hangouts). We are seeing increasing adoption of Chromebooks not only in the educational market but in other industries as well. Adding the softphone feature to the web interface would be a game changer for many organizations. Is this on the roadmap?

When can be expected '302 diversion header' forwarding feature to be available again ?
Many corporate customers asking for it and lack of it prevents upgrading to V15 / 15.5.

I could have missed something here & probably have??

But where did the web based wallboard go in the webclient for the Beta? I could see this in the Alpha but not the Beta

Are multiple calls received by agent in pro edition coming for Linux version or you are not developing Linux version any further? This feature was available in Windows based but missing in Linux.

Being another company whose lifeblood is the 3CX product, I can understand the frustration when decisions are made that result in making my life harder. Quite honestly, there have been many and some of them have been - dare I say it - ill advised. Over the years, though, I have learned to appreciate that this company is managed by an engineer who does have a product vision and constantly strives to make it so. Jon Luc Piccard - he may not be - but the ship is heading for the correct quadrant. The decisions to rewire the product - almost from the ground up - was brave and necessary.

Many software companies try to "evolve" from architecturally flawed code-bases and almost always suffocate themselves in the process. The decision to also add cross OS compatibility with Debian was braver yet and took some long term planning to pull off.

So yes. The reengineering resulted in a bunch of lost features. I have felt it. ButI don't think it was for lack of trying. They didn't remove the features - they just haven't added them back in yet. Mapping functionality across architectures is a daunting process. I'm not surprised some decisions had to be made about what got done first.

Personally, I can't wait until they add the ability to enter MAC addresses with punctuation back into the UI :-)
