Running into a confusing situation and looking for some clarification.
Setup
Appreciate any insight; I’m trying to figure out if this is expected behavior or if I’m missing something obvious.
Setup
- 3CX cloud-hosted (*.my3cx.us)
- Fanvil desk phone
- Configured as Generic IP Phone
- No SBC
- No obvious SIP registration errors in the logs
- Extension shows Not Registered even though I’m not seeing registration failures
- Forcing the user status to Available does not make the phone ring
- Calls go straight to voicemail/unavailable logic
- I don’t have physical access to the phone
- I can’t access the phone’s local web UI to check DND or ringing:
- Default creds don’t work
- SIP/Auth creds don’t work
- I don’t see any web UI credentials exposed in 3CX for this phone
- Why would a Generic IP Phone show as not registered without clear registration errors?
- Why can’t I force the extension to Available and have it ring?
- Is there any supported way to access or reset the desk phone’s web UI credentials when it’s provisioned as a Generic IP Phone, or is that just not available by design?
Appreciate any insight; I’m trying to figure out if this is expected behavior or if I’m missing something obvious.
