Is it possible to start chat from a local html page (and callus.js), without a webserver?

Yes it is possible. You might have issues with the CORS restriction in that case, but there is a workaround. If you want to configure it, send me a personal message.

I have a 3cx phone system v16. I'm trying this on a HTTP website and it does not work because of CORS restriction.

Hello @manfer ,

Make sure that the configuration on Settings > WordPress > Site URL is in place. The URL of your HTTP site should be the same as the one the WordPress settings page.

Hi @Constantinos Constantinou ,

I missed that part of the configuration. My fault. I read it but I did only all the rest of the steps.

Works fine. Thanks.

I am unable to connect live chat with my hosting. Is there anyone who can help me.

Refused to connect to 'https://{customhostname}.com/MyPhone/c2cinfo?c2cid=salesteam' because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "connect-src 'self' wss://*.{customhostname}".

And a suggestion - it would be nice, if someone requests a chat and no agent is available - that the app would generate an email instead of just the unanswered chat.

Thanks 3CX. Just installed latest update and do see the Form for email reply if all agents are off duty (after I realized I had to clear cache on my machine - ha ha)

We're not web people so we use SquareSpace for our site.
It was actually pretty easy to set this up for us.
Thanks 3CX.

I am struggling to get this setup on Squarespace - can anyone add some pointers? Basically I am stuck at where to get call.js into Squarespace. Or can I just paste the contents into a code block on a page (i think the contents on call.js are over the 400,000 character limit) or into the Page Header code injection box?
Appreciate any help/comments given :)

Hello @Owen
Callus.js on the cases of content management systems either should be hosted on CDN's or on your site itself.
On HTML code blocks you should add only the call-us tag and the respective properties such as phonesystem-url and party.
Also on that code block you should reference the callus.js location.
I hope this somehow explains the approach that you should follow. I an not familiar with Squarespace, but the same rules apply on most of those cases.

I have noticed some issues with 3CX Live Chat and Talk, using Wordpress this will not work when you use some of the available plugins for compressing javascripts, some of the caching plugins as well. a workaround is using Callus.js, however this javascript will drastically slowdown your page load speed. This is true for any site Wordpress or other. You need to decide Slow page load or 3CX Live Chat and

Hello @TBWD

On our site (https://www.3cx.com/ordering/pricing/) we are using the plugin and we do have caching mechanisms without any issue.
Can you please share with me in a personal message the issue's that you've identified on the WordPress version ?

Hello @Marari ,

You can follow our detailed installation guides on how to configure the WordPress plugin or the standalone version of the script

Standalone: https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/live-chat/

WordPress Plugin: https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/live-chat/

Please let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks Constantinos.

If it worked for Wix, I wouldn't have been asking. Unfortunately the stand-alone instructions don't work for Wix because of a slight inconvenience in not being able to upload .js files.

Hello @Marari ,

In platforms that you are not allowed to upload custom javascript files, the option is to host it outside the platform. CDN (Content Delivery Network) services are one of those options of hosting that Javascript.

Give it a shot and you will find more information.

Hi together, we implement the callus.js and into our webseite. Chat is working, but how to start a call/videochat? Is it possible with non-WP Sites?

Hello @prointernetgmbh ,

Of course, it is possible on non-WP sites. We have a dedicated guide for this configuration:
https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/live-chat/

In case that you have it connected with queue and you are on v16 Update 1, one of the agents should take the ownership of the web chat, in order to enabled audio/video. Prerequisite on all cases is to allow-call and allow-video properties to true.

Please let me know if you have any other queries.
