Starting on Tuesday June 29th I've been getting these weird strings at the end of my calls coming in. I have a few 3CX setups and they're starting to get it too. Is this something with the 3CX platform I need to adjust or from the number provider? (We use FlowRoute)

Picture attached to give an example. Its not happening on all calls but randomly popping up and after a while the call log removes it and its just the number or ID of the person.

This is most probably being sent by the SIP Provider this way. If you like you can first confirm it by enabling Verbose Logging mode under "Dashboard >> Activity Log >> Settings" and then checking a call in the Activity Log to see if the SIP INVITE from the SIP Provider actually contains this information. If yes, you might want to contact them to ask why exactly it is being sent the way it is.

It looks like Flowroute was sending the STIR/SHAKEN validation in the From SIP header but I just retested this and it seems to be resolved. Can you try again and let us know?
Also make sure that your Inbound parameter settings of your trunk are the default ones.

Interesting I still had it with the P Assisted setting. I set it to what your screenshot contains and will update. If it still occurs i'll reach out to flowroute. Thank you!

This is a confirmed issue with FR it seems per their support. As a workaround I've implemented to remove caller ID name and just use ID number

Inside SIP Trunk -> Inbound rules under "CallerName" caller's name (default: From->display name) set it to From:User Part

Obviously this is not supported by 3CX and use at your own risk. Flowroute said they have no ETA for resolution and our customers are pissed

@jrodcpwk

You could indeed temporarily configure it as luckystrikes mentioned. If it does resolve the issue you may keep it but do remember to switch it back to the default settings once the gets resolved by the provider.

Just as an update on July 6th it was fine for the day and now today we're just getting [V] (for Vendetta) dropping as the caller ID name. At least its no longer the VN Validation string. Thanks for the input, i'll just pile on to Flowroutes ticket system.

Yeah spoke to Flowroute and saying to reach to support for stripping the [V] string from the caller ID

Ok, so what they are suggesting is to do this:

Change the: "CallerName" Inbound Parameter to "From : User Part"

BUT

This means that you can forget about getting the Callers Name on incoming calls, you will only get the Callers Number, and of course if you have it in the 3CX Phonebook then it will appear.

To explain a bit more, basically what Flowroute is doing right now is, in the SIP field they used to use to send the "Caller Name" to the PBX, now they are sending just "[V]", so you are losing this piece of information.
