Gigaset N510 Behind SBC V16 SP2

I've set a DECT base GIGASET N510, registred and working behind latest SBC on V16 SP2 PBX. (I know this is unsupported use)

now stay one question who can explain me why on phones screen , i've one side a bold line, like fresh new phone with mac on IP 127.0.0.1
and lines with extensions registred on N510 properly in "Provisioned" state on real DECT base IP 192.168.10.109

If its an unsupported setup normally that states "UNPROVISIONED" which is interesting.

Personally I would always use a VPN for these SBC is encrypted so you should be OK, not sure if the situation is still the same but Gigaset used to send some credentials in plain text if I recall so, I would never opt for STUN or direct SIP with these.

Between SBC to PBX tunnel is encrypted no? so there's no plain text, am I wrong?

Heh.. you are much more likely to have your traffic sniffed on the local LAN than the internet so I really wouldn't worry about STUN from a security standpoint. You basically need to have a bad actor working at your ISP to really worry about someone sniffing your traffic over the internet.

No, you are correct. I think where @eddv123 was going with that comment is that the behavior you describe is typically something you see with a firewall issue and STUN where you get multiple instances of a phone showing. Or maybe he just misread your post.

In this particular case you can probably just click the 'X' next to the bold entry and that is that. Most likely what happened was the Gigagset did a PnP announcement which the SBC picked up and then you manually configured it to use the SBC. Once you remove the bold entry (and assuming you turned off the PnP announcement at boot) it shouldn't come back. But otherwise this is a non-issue.

PBX is cloud hosted on amazon lightsail
SBC is behind 4G routeur connected to SFR (french national telecom provider) Public IP is renewed often almost once a day.
On LAN side nothing else than phones, 3Cx is used by customer in his big house, no company.

The N510 base does send a PnP request when you first boot the device. That is why you are seeing in the phones section. But since you cannot provision it using PnP you need to manually dismiss the entry to get rid of it.

When adding handsets to the base on different extensions that is exactly how they look so there is nothing wrong there.
