Pleased to hear.

You could have disabled the star commands in the grandstream of course but 3cx config nice and flexible and the star commands in the GXP series are quite useful.

SWB, what problems do you have with outside GXPs. They seem to work just as well as internal extensions.

Make sure you disabled the Grandstream star codes. In the Account tab, Enable Call Features - set to No. Update and Reboot.

A question for you, SWB: If I set Enable Call Features to No does that disable all the * features on the Grandstream phone? If it does that is not what I want because in our environment we use the *72 and *73 regularly.

Craig
Yes if you set it to No that will disable the * features on the Grandstream. Back when I was playing with intercom I couldn't get it to work without setting this to No. My guess is the 3CX *9 was conflicting with a *9 Grandstream code. I don't know what the * keys are for the Grandstream (I may have a list somewhere), but you might be able to work around them since you can define the star key code for the intercom in 3CX.

Well not really anymore. We connect outside phones directly to our server with enabling STUN. Some people could connect without issue, others couldn't. But I fault that to network structure, firewalls, etc. and what the device is going through to reach our server. But we are at the point now where the ones who use the phones outside haven't experienced any problems recently (knock on wood). Before I was getting issues and problems sent to me regularly. Maybe the new 3CX builds have isolated problems ;)

Re the star commands in the Grandstream, they are listed in the manual.

Regards external registration and audio, yes stun seems to work every time, though I see some do have issues on the forum.

As a follow-up, today I retired my GXP-2000 for an Aastra 55i. The installation onto 3cx was basically seamless (with the exception of needing to set ON Rport (RFC 3581) in Advanced Network Settings). Compared to the GXP-2000, this Aastra is light years ahead. We still use the GXP's at other desks, but going forward I suspect we'll move to the 55i.

Sound quality is absolutely amazing on speakerphone; flexibility of configuration is outstanding. Build quality appears quite strong too. Mind you, the GXP-2000 survived 75+ calls a day for 2 years without a hitch too.
