Grandstream HT801 and Long Range Dect

Hi all
I am looking at deploying the Grandstream HT801 with a Motorola 0201 Dect handset.
The reason for using this handset is for its long range and the waterproof rating (it is being used in a garden centre).
I have bought one for testing purposes but am struggling to get any type of transfer working with any sort of consistency.
Has anyone had any experience using the grandstream ata's with phones that do not have hookswitch/flash mode, and how did you get around the issue?
Has anyone had any better experiences with a long range dect that they could suggest?
Any actual long range IP phones out there that are near the 1km range, like the Motorola?

Have you considered also using an android phone instead?

There are rugged models available, and in addition to WiFi, it can also go beyond 1km when on 3/4G data connection

Unfortunately, the WIFI isn't exactly up to scratch and the site has rubbish mobile data, especially indoors. If the WIFI was better, i would have gone down the lines of WIFI phones, but this wont be sorted for at least another year.

I see, in this case if there is no other solution, you may have better luck getting a long range DECT station that is SIP based, and try to manually configure it. Generally speaking it should perform most basic functions (but with no guarantees of course for compatibility).

DO you have any suggestions as the only long range sip based dect solutions are nowhere near the range required.
The grandstream ata has the ability to use * codes for things like transfer etc, but these do not work when the device is on 3cx. Any idea if there is a setting to get these to work?

Don't see why these codes don't work when using on 3CX, I'm testing an 814 here with the same instructions in the quick user guide included in the 801 and I can put a call on hold, unhold, blind and attended transfer, as well as conference.

You need the ability to flash though, this is a requirement of the ATA and if the DECT phone cannot do this then you will be stuck.

Looking at a picture of the handset, it does seem to have a Flash button and should be able to do simple (unattended) transfer. Anything more would require star codes, which should not be an issue. If the Grandsteam is unable to do this, I and I don't see why it can't, you might consider a Cisco ATA (or other), and manually configuring, if using a different handset is not an option.

Why not use Yealink's WBxx and their range extenders (rt30, you can daisy chain them too)? How long a range we talking about?
