Grandstream HT802 with 3CX cloud

I am trying to install a HT802 with 3CX hosted in the cloud. I followed the steps but was unable to get it to work. Any suggestions.

You are going to have to provide some more information about what you have tried, and the results so far. As a starting point, do you see an incoming registration attempt in the 3CX Activity Logs? If not, then you need to figure out why. Is it a firewall issue at the server end, or the ATA is not "pointed" to the correct destination? Have you tried both the public IP and FQDN of the server?

3cx is hosted on amazon lightsail. Should the Grandstream device be connected to 3CX via VPN you mean

While VPN will work, it is not necessary unless you are using the ATA for a Fax extension. Set up using STUN should be fine.

This does not mean that you wont be able to get it working using STUN or SBC however if you were to ask 3CX to support such a setup they would say no.

Note: if using FAX with this ATA then avoid STUN/SBC.

Thank you for the reply, I am using it for a fax machine. Is the VPN supposed to be setup thru the 3CX interface

VPN is the responsibility of the network engineer, it's not a 3CX feature. You are responsible for setting up the VPN and then configuring the device to use the VPN to connect to 3CX.

Its a standard IPSec VPN I am talking about. Select a cloud network provider who supports software firewalls (like PfSense) and build a LAN >> LAN connection down to the network edge very easy to do.
