Greetings,

To start, let me apologize. I have never used video phones with a 3CX install so some of my questions may be very elementary.

I have a customer who wants to replace their current door access system with an IP phone based one with video. My vendor wants to use a Grandstream GDS3710 for the door which appears to be supported by 3CX. My thought was to replace the reception phone with a Yealink T58v (or equivalent) so that they could answer/see whoever was calling from the door without having to add another device to their desk. Will video calling work between these two devices? I read that folks were able to get this to work, but does video calling "just work" assuming both devices agree on a codec? The alternative would be to use the Grandstream GSC3570 device to receive the calls, but I am not sure about using an unsupported device.

Any suggestions?

The GDS should just work with Yealink and the Webclient, as long as you use the supported template. You may encounter video issues but usually those can be easily fixed by adjusting codecs/bitrate/H264 profile.

Don't go GSC3570, it doesn't do much. I had one.
