In a v18u9a system, we have a Group named "Azure AD." This Group appears as a Department when the v18 backup is restored into a v20 system as part of a migration. I was told by the previous 3CX admin that this v18 Group was automatically created when we performed the M365 integration and when users are successfully synced with M365, they’re automatically added to this Group.
Is it true that the “Azure AD” Group / Department is automatically created as a result of the M365 integration?
Are users automatically added to this Group or Department once their user has been synced with M365?
I've read that the Azure AD group is no longer required for 3CX v20. Is this true? When the requirement go away - in one of the v18 updates or just starting in v20? Reason why I ask is I hadn't seen user being added to the Azure AD group for several months prior to the v20 upgrade.
