Hi Everyone, i have setup some ring groups to to distribute incoming calls. Once the call hits the last ring group, i have pointed the call if not answered to go to voicemail of 801, the first ring group.

When i test the calls it works as it should do, and the voicemail of 801 answers the call. How do i record the voicemail greeting for this 801 ring group or can i upload a professional recording in a .wav format for 801 ring group?

According to 3CX:

You cannot save a custom prompt for the group voicemail box. You just get a generic system-generated greeting.

In addition, the manual goes on to say:

If you need a group voicemail box that (1) allows you to save a custom prompt, and (2) turns on the MWI, and (3) honors the extensions voicemail delivery settings, then I encourage you to take a look at our 3CX Voicemail Manager tool. With our tool, we use a standard extension voicemail box so you have all the normal features for creating prompts (including holidays). Further, we propagate the voicemail to all the group members which turns on the MWI. However, when any member of the group listens to the message, we update all the other extensions by flagging the voicemail as heard which turns off the MWI for all the group members. Because 3CX sees this as a regular voicemail, the regular voicemail delivery rules will be applied.

I ended up creating and utilizing a Callflow Designer (CFD) App. This allows you to record a custom greeting. For our use case having the voicemail sent as an E-Mail to a group mailbox (E.g. Sales, Service, Rentals, etc.) depending on which Ring Group it came from works great.

I find 3CX to be a great system but it has some really odd missing features as can be attested to on the ideas board.

I know it's a great system and easy to use, but this group voicemail should have the ability to record a greeting. I created an extension with voicemail, then put it in the ring group no answer destination. This then allowed me to record a greeting. In the extension i put in an email address, so it sends an email with the voicemail message. The email address my customer uses goes to 4 people who work in the office. The only issue is that if someone listens to the email, the other 3 people don't know if it's been listened to?

That's correct. They will have to coordinate with one another to ensure you don't have multiple people chasing the same customer request... or use our tool.

Looks great, but i think i'll just point to an extension users mailbox, this way it will have an alert ( MWI ) and will also email the person. But thank you for your help on this.
