Hi Folks,

We are running 3CX v16 with Grandstream GRP2615s. When a customer calls in and the receptionist wishes to conference more than one extension into the call, it doesn't appear they are able to do so.

As far as we can tell, the only way to accomplish conference calls between the inbound caller and more than one extension is to have the other extension that is being conferenced in initiate their own conference.

It's like Inception for phone conferencing.

Thoughts/Answers/Ideas?

Hi John,
which 3CX licence do you have ? STD ,PRO , ENT ?

The conference you've tried to do is with one external caller and 2 internal extensions?

@John Dugan

1. The devices have limited stream capabilities so they cannot maintain too many simultaneous calls at the same time in order to have a big conference, but you you also have the option to use the 3CX conference server to create an ad-hoc conference that no longer runs on the phone itself. You will have to transfer callers into the conference one by one though so while it IS doable that may not be easy/quick.

2. Enter the 3CX web client or desktop client, that will automatically set up the conference and transfer all the participants instantly. You may continue to add participants if you wish to do so.

3. You also have the third option of keeping your deskphone, but controlling it via the webclient in CSTA mode which means you have the best of both worlds: you keep the call in the handset, but setup the conferencing via the webclient (which will in turn move both yourself and the participants into the PBX conference server

@aws2p we run the Enterprise version.

@JohnS_3CX understandable. Thanks for presenting an alternative option.
