Handset user settings

Hi

I am sure this must have come up before, but unable to find a post - so send me a link if you know of a post

Specifically Yealink handsets, users change options on the phones - backlight timeout, screensaver timeout etc. but when the phone automatically re-provisions the settings get defaulted again.

Any way to stop this?

Once the handset is provisioned delete the server URL from the provisioning page on the handset.

Hi Dave,

This can be done the way @3C Technology describes, but the phone will not be able to auto-provision on its own in case you make changes to the extension in the future

It might be possible to create a custom template that does not include those options at all, so they will no longer be overwritten. But note that if support for a device is required involving 3CX Support, the device must be brought back to the default stock template after Factory Resetting the device, before opening a support ticket and the issue must be replicated with the stock template
