Hello,

While trying to optimize the costs on our self-hosted environment, there were a few questions we couldn't figure out from the documentation at https://www.3cx.com/docs/recommended-hardware-specifications-for-3cx/. We currently use 3CX for the (non-wordpress) webchat functionalities and no phone calls are going through the system.

Below are the specs we currently have:
  • VM Hosted in Azure
  • Dasv4 with 8GB RAM, 2 Core
  • Temporary Space included
  • Linux OS
A few questions:
  • Is there any need for the temporary space from 3CX’s point of view? For logs or update data etc, or are these stored elsewhere?
  • Would the B-series (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/introducing-b-series-our-new-burstable-vm-size/) be an option or are there any performance or other concerns we should take into consideration? The idea would be to save while the chat queues are quiet and increase the capacity when there’s a spike of activity.
  • Do you have any recommendations for the specs needed to cover 2000 chats per month?
  • What kind of impact does it have on the required hardware, if concurrent chats go up from 10 to 100?

Thank you in advance for any assistance!

Br,
Ville
