Hi there,

I'm not sure if this situation is do'able, but here's what's being asked. Essentially we have a SIP Trunk with a main trunk number, lets say 001. There are three DIDs, 002-004.

One of the DIDs, 002, is setup with forwarding to an external phone number if a call comes in outside of office-hours. Works great. The only minor concern is the caller ID is set to the 001 when the forwarded call is received. We would like, instead, for the caller ID to show 002. I am very much new to 3cx and I am getting the impression this is easier said than done.

Just wondering if this is at all possible and, if so, how I'd go about performing this change? Thank you very much.

depends on the carrier... maybe
but i dont think so.
the trunk is forwarding the call, and not the extesion,.

Have you put the DID numbers in each extensions setting, as the caller ID to be displayed on outside calls? If you call an outside number, does that number show, or the main trunk number?

There are a number of (outbound) settings for the trunk that will affect where caller ID is to be taken on an outgoing call. However, before making any changes, record what is there now (these can "break" all outgoing calling), and, more importantly, check with your provider to see if they allow you to send a caller ID other than your main number.

You may succeed in sending the caller ID from the original caller, and not the extension, so some testing will be needed.

As you can see here...

Each provider can require different settings.
