Hey 3CX,
are there any plans to make 3CX available for Android Automative (AAOS)?
There are models from the following brands that utilize it: BMW, Ford, GM, Honda, Renault, Nissan, Mitsubishi, VW, Volvo and Polestar.
Seems like it´s becoming more and more famous.
For Volvo and Polestar I can say that you´ve no chance to use 3CX right now because it doesn´t have android auto as it runs the apps natively. It runs CarPlay but this doesn´t help Android users.
Chrome is working, so maybe you could use the WebClient, but for good reasons it is blocked as soon as you drive.
Guess it´s not too difficult to make it available for Android Automative, because many apps are available.

It’s great that CarPlay is coming to the 3CX app, but in the beta version, it’s quite cumbersome when it comes to getting Siri to make a call. It doesn’t matter whether you say the numbers in the phone/local number, the full local number, or the name. Are there others experiencing similar issues with 3CX CarPlay?

First thing - check in the device Settings/3CX/Siri & Search/Use with Ask Siri to be ON.

Then, Siri has to recognize the name of the app - and it seems it has a problem in understanding "3CX" pronounciation. If it doesn't understand, it will tell you to find an app on the AppStore, or that it didn't find anything in the contacts, or that it cannot call two persons - things like this. So, in order to "train" Siri, first go and enable in device Settings/Siri & Search/Siri Responses/Always show Siri Captions. Now:

Assume you say "Call Maria using 3CX" and it shows "Call Maria using 36", tap the response to edit and correct "36" to "3CX" - this way you train Siri to associate your 3CX prononciation to 3CX app name.

Oh, yes. Siri is enabled and all settings is done ;-)

If I ask Siri to call Peter usinh 3CX, the name does not exist, but Peter exists in Team and Device contacts. Well, I tried to call Peter using the local number, for example 3401 or 3 4 0 1, it turns out to be gibberish and it is the whole number that needs to be changed. All settings are controlled in relation to 3CX and Siri works fine other calling app.

In order to find Peter from PBX (extension, bridge, personal, company, CRM, 365) the 3CX client should be in the foreground either on iPhone, either CarPlay or both - because app needs to be in communication with PBX in order to resolve "Peter" name. Also, you can check in the app CarPlay&Siri menu / Voice commands/ Call the filtering - if you set it only extensions then app will look only for local extensions, ie no contacts, no mobiles.

Regarding number prononciation - it's not app problem, it's Siri-user understanding, app only receives what Siri understood.

Even with the app open and in the foreground on both the mobile and CarPlay, it cannot find Peter.
