Hi,

I have a client that has several Yealink T41 phones and I've setup dial prefix as a method of restricting outbound call to only authorized employees. The problem is with there old PBX system, they were prompted to enter a code, but with 3CX I don't see that options, hence the reason I use dial prefix.

Does anyone know how to hide or immediately delete the call history on the Yealink phone so when the redial button is pressed or if you go to Call History on the handset, it does NOT show the last called number + the dial prefix(code)?

All I am trying to do is restrict outbound calls to certain number by using a code and you should be able to use any phone.

Nothing in 3CX. You may be able to accomplish this via a custom template. You would ask on the Yealink forums and then go from there.

The 3CX alternative would be to use outbound rules scoped to extension groups to allow outbound calls. If your employees are mobile then you'd have to do hot-desking.

This system is setup is a small college and anyone is allowed to make internal calls, however the teachers and admin staff allowed to make external calls from any phone, so I wondering if there was a solutions.
I'm using the Yealink phones now, but even if I switch to another phone, I think I would have the same problem...(Once someone presses Redial, they will see your code.)

I wonder if this is worth requesting 3CX to add the ability to propmt for a code to make certain calls.

I'm going to read up on hot desking.

The real problem is that the phones are in public space, so anyone can access them. Their old phone system prompted for a code whenever an external call was made, but I can't see to find a similar solution with using 3CX which is now been deployed.

I think that might have the same issue as a call prefix with showing up in the call history.

Short of disabling the display completely, or using a set with no, or a limited display, you may be out of luck in hiding the previously dialled number from someone determined to get it.

I just wanted to share the solution that worked for me.

I simply logged into the phone GUI, then Features > General Information and then disabled Save Call Log.

Now no one is able to see what number was dialed OR most importantly, the prefix which is what we are using a " access code". Thanks for all your feedback and suggestion.

SOLVED.
